Redeeming EZ Money Points for Bitcoin – a New Loyalty Redemption Option for Millennials

Advantage/EZ Rental (AEz) and their loyalty agency, Persuade partnered together on April 2nd, 2018 to launch the first rental car loyalty program that allows their customers to convert their points to cryptocurrency (i.e. Bitcoin, Ethereum). Persuade built a central exchange (Crypto Rewards Exchange or CRE) that can be added to any loyalty platform as a redemption option (cryptorewardsexchange.com) and AEz re-launched their EZ Money program to offer additional benefits for their customers who are predominately millennial and generation Z business travelers.  
 
AEz and Persuade partnered together for this exciting new concept for two reasons: 

• Attitudes toward the block chain and crypto currency are significantly more positive and growing in adoption in the millennial and gen Z cohorts. Loyalty programs that specifically target these generations are adapting to their changing tastes and ideals. 

• Education around crypto currency requires a way to easily create an account and experiment with owning and managing this volatile form of currency, CRE allows customers to create an account and own cryptocurrency in a manner of minutes. Using loyalty points to do this is lower risk while learning how cryptocurrency works, is traded and used.  
 
This presentation will discuss the movement of loyalty programs into the block chain space and review the adoption and metrics of this new venture from AEz and Persuade.

Joe Doran, Vice President, Client Services, Persuade Loyalty

Joe Doran is the Vice President of Client Services at Persuade in Minneapolis, MN where he oversees account services and product delivery.
 
Joe has been leading technology teams and Clients since he started his career as a project manager in the military building multi-million dollar command and control software.
 
He started his digital marketing career at Olson 1to1 leading the technology team for Wyndham Rewards – the largest hotel chain in the world. This was followed by several years at The Nerdery working as a digital strategy director where his teams built everything from enterprise grade healthcare systems to cutting edge mobile apps.
 
Joe holds a BE in Biomedical Engineering and a ME in Chemical Engineering from Tufts University in Medford, MA.

Scott J. Davido, President and CEO, Advantage Rent A Car and EZ Rent A Car (AEZ)

Scott Davido joined AEZ in May 2016 as President, and was also appointed CEO in August 2017. Prior to joining AEZ, Scott was a Senior Managing Director at FTI Consulting, focusing on operational and financial improvements and turnarounds in a variety of industries, including energy, healthcare and retail. Serving in roles as CFO, President and CEO, he delivered successful financial growth and performance improvements while developing/implementing organizational strategic plans for both public and privately held companies.

Earlier in his career he was CFO at Calpine Corp., a multi-billion dollar power generation business, where he led the development a turnaround plan that improved Calpine’s value by $1 billion. He also was Executive Vice President, CFO and Treasurer at The Elder-Beerman Stores Corp., a 133-year-old department store chain, leading that company into a public offering after a successful restructuring.

Davido holds a BA in Accounting and a JD in law from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio.
