Health & Safety | Loyalty Expo 2021

As of May 14, 2021, face coverings and social distancing are no longer required in most indoor and outdoor settings, but are still recommended for individuals who are not fully vaccinated. The state of North Carolina has lifted mandatory mask requirements for most settings, excluding, public transportation, child care, schools, prisons and certain public health settings. 

Currently, Charlotte, North Carolina is operating at 100% capacity. There are no travel restrictions in place for North Carolina, and visitors do not have to quarantine upon arrival.

Throughout the event, the Loyalty360/Loyalty Expo team will be following Covid health and safety regulations put in place by the CDC, the Sheraton Charlotte Hotel (Marriott), and Mecklenburg County (Charlotte), NC. With many things changing in the world right now, we want to assure you that as we continue to plan for Loyalty Expo, the health and safety of our exhibitors, attendees, sponsors, staff and speakers is our top priority.

We will be paying detailed attention to food service, cleaning of common areas, limiting contact during the check-in/registration process, socially-distanced seating options, hand sanitizer stations, and other safety measures.

As we all know, precautions required around preventing Covid transmission are changing rapidly. Please check back for any additional requirements that will be in place during the event.

Additional Safety Measures: 

Face Coverings: 
For the U.S. - consistent with the most recent CDC guidance - fully vaccinated guests and associates are no longer required to wear face coverings or social distance in indoor or outdoor areas of the hotel, unless required by local law. We ask that unvaccinated guests and associates continue to wear face coverings and practice social distancing when they are in public spaces inside the hotel.

Surface Areas and Public Spaces: In public spaces, Marriott has added to its already rigorous cleaning protocols, requiring that surfaces are treated with hospital-grade disinfectants and that this cleaning is done with increased frequency. In guest rooms, Marriott has added to its detailed cleaning practices, requiring all surfaces to be thoroughly cleaned with hospital-grade disinfectants. The company will also be placing disinfecting wipes in each room for guests' personal use.

Meeting Areas: 
All rooms, including conference rooms, meeting rooms and rooms for social functions will be set up according to the social distancing guidance in place at the time of the event. The goal is to allow additional space in all rooms and certain designated areas will have additional social distancing opportunities.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): All attendees, exhibitors, and sponsors will be offered gloves and masks upon request if they do not have their own.

Personal Hygiene: We will provide hand sanitizing stations throughout the event space, encouraging all participants to regularly disinfect their hands.

Food Safety: At Marriott, food handlers and supervisors are trained on safe food preparation and service practices. The company's food and beverage operations are required to conduct self-inspection using its food safety standards as guidelines, and compliance is validated by independent audits. Marriott is also enhancing sanitation guidelines and training videos for associates that include hygiene and disinfecting practices. In addition, the company is modifying its operational practices for in-room dining and designing new approaches to buffets.
